Don't Ignore

Everyone in the room is important. Acknowledge every comment and validate every question. If someone is being ignored then focus your attention, if only temporarily, on that person. Ensure that everyone feels heard. A professor of history once explained to me that the most effective forms of teaching all begin with listening. You have a much better chance of changing someone’s mind if you allow them to speak until they feel heard, rather than if you speak until they are exhausted.
