Experts Simplify

Experts are notorious for making things more complicated than necessary. If there is one stereotype about experts that they should avoid, it is that they magnify complexity, or use the most complex form possible to explain something or answer a question. Experts constantly fall into the trap of complicating things. When asked a question that just requires a short, direct answer, for example, experts often launch into a lengthy diatribe that they believe demonstrates their superior knowledge. Unfortunately, complexity often hurts more than it helps.

The problems presented to experts are often very complicated, but the wisest experts see problems in their simplest form, explain those problems in the simplest language, and solve them with the simplest solutions. Simplify, simplify, simplify!
